The Close Brothers' European Special Situations Group (ESSG), London, has recruited a new Managing Director. Matthew Prest joins Close Brothers Corporate Finance from M&G Investment Management Limited, where he was a director of restructuring.
Prest, a German speaker with extensive experience in international restructuring, has been appointed to bolster the ESSG's cross-border capacity with its German team. His appointment reflects the increased focus ESSG has across Europe and the opportunities that exist in Germany.
Prest brings a wealth of experience to ESSG - over the last two years he has worked on numerous high profile restructurings including Avon Energy, Queens Moat Houses and Drax.
Commenting on the appointment, Stephen Aulsebrook, Head of the European Special Situations Group, said:
"I'm delighted to welcome Matthew. Our ongoing recruitment not only reflects the growth of the business, it also positions us to capitalise on the leading position we have in European restructuring.
"Matthew's appointment will allow us to address the increasing demand for restructuring advice we are seeing in Germany. Having significant cross-border capabilities is important in our business. His appointment gives a further boost to our European network."
